Where is the PotashCorp Fireworks Festival?
The Festival takes place at four different riverside venues: River Landing, Friendship Park, the Remai Arts Centre, and across the river in Rotary Park.
When is the PotashCorp Fireworks Festival?
The Festival takes place on Friday, September 3rd and Saturday, September 4th.
What time does it start?
Entertainment and attractions get underway at 5:00 pm both days. The firework displays are set for 9:30 pm on each night.
What if it rains?
The PotashCorp Fireworks Festival will go forward rain or shine, with the only exception being severe wind and/or an electrical storm. In the event of a weather-related postponement, Sunday, September 5th will be used as an alternate fireworks night.
What is there to do at the Festival?
There are many things to experience at the PotashCorp Fireworks Festival: music, dancing, food, drinks, live entertainment, and of course . . . Fireworks!! There will be activities happening on both sides of the river so make sure to come out early in time to check everything out!
Will there be a Beer Garden at the event?
There will be two locations for beer gardens. the first is the RiverFest Gardens in Friendship Park, and the second is the Festival Pavilion, on the east bank of the river in Rotary Park. Both venues are all ages venues, however, alcohol will obviously not be served to minors (IDs will be checked). Admission to both Beer Gardens is free of charge.
How do I get there?
Thanks to Road Map Saskatoon, a Bike Valet Service will be set up near the Remai Arts Centre at River Landing. Also, city transit will be operating buses on the normal Friday and Saturday schedules. Please visit City of Saskatoon Transit for route information. Lastly, there are a number of parking lots around the main festival area for those that need to drive. Please consider carpooling! And please plan a safe ride home.
What is the Knights in White Satin event?
Knights in White Satin is a new event in 2010 in support of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Saskatoon. It will be held at the Remai Arts Centre on Friday night.
What is the Sparkler Social?
The Sparkler Social is a private ticketed event, held at the Remai Arts Centre on Saturday night.
Is there seating provided?
Some seating is provided in the Festival Pavilion at Rotary Park and at RiverFest in Friendship Park. Seating at the River Landing Amphitheatre (limited) is on a first-come, first-serve basis. We suggest bringing lawn chairs, blankets, etc. to make yourself comfortable somewhere on the grass.
What should I wear?
During the day, you'll need sun protection (hopefully!) and some comfortable shoes if you want to wander around throughout the day. Plan to bring a sweater or jacket for after sunset, as well as insect repellent and rain gear if necessary.
Is there food at the Festival?
Yes! There will be food vendors selling food and beverages on both sides of the river.
Are there children’s activities at the Festival?
Yes! There will be a variety of fun things for the kids, including face painting, games, and music and dance to enjoy during the daytime (River Landing), and glow sticks for after sunset.
