Be a Volunteer

The Nutrien Fireworks Festival has a number of fun and rewarding volunteer opportunities for people of all ages and all interests.

Volunteer Roles Include:

Stage Assistant AmphitheatreKeep spectators out of the stage area - assist stage manager with various tasks
Contest Seating SecurityNorth end of Traffic BridgeGuarding the fenced off area surrounding the bleachers making sure no one without the appropriate wristband gets in. Check everyone’s wristband closely to make sure it is the corresponding color to the evening.
Info BoothRiver Landing & Rotary ParkStay in the info booth and be available to answer questions. This requires knowledge of the maps, entertainment timelines and location of washrooms and other services. The info tent can never be left unattended.

Make sure there is always water available for other volunteers.
Accessible Seating ControlRiver Landing - Above WaterparkThis area is priority for people who use a wheelchair or have any other accessibility issues. This volunteer must ensure that those people have access to this viewing point. Other people may view from there as well if there is enough room. This area should not be congested at any time.
Set Up Friday MorningRiver Landing & Rotary ParkHelp set up the festival site: signage, tents, chairs, activities.
Take Down Saturday NightRiver Landing & Rotary ParkHelp to clean up garbage and recycling. Take down tents and gather supplies. Help load materials into cube van.
Site MaintenanceRiver Landing & Rotary ParkRoam around festival site cleaning any garbage and recycling off the ground. Bring waste to garbage stations for proper disposal. Do not leave until site is clean and free of trash.
Art Village VolunteersAround Art VillageTurn on twinkle lights once it gets dark. Answer questions of attendees. Once it gets dark turn on all lights. Help with take down Saturday night.
Mascot HandlerRotary ParkWalk around with mascot, making sure they don’t run into anything.
Activity SupportRotary ParkHelp manage the Neighborhood Faceoff activities within Rotary Park. Be able to answer participants questions.

Volunteering is a perfect opportunity to get out and enjoy the fireworks festival (and see the show during your shift) while working together with friends or family and a great chance to meet new people.
